The map of Juan-les-Pins can be roughly divided into three parts:
- directly Joan-les-Pins - the center of modern life with many bars and discos;
- Cape Antibes, the "habitat" of celebrities, filled with luxury villas, chic hotel complexes (see a map of Joan-les-Pins with hotels), and the best beaches;
- Antibes is a historic center where every cobblestone in the sidewalk has a story to tell about the lives of Pablo Picasso, Francis Scott Fitzgerald, Nikos Kazandzakis, Graham Greene and other celebrities.
Although Joan-les-Pins is considered a tourist unit in its own right, together with the larger city of Antibes it forms one administrative center. Although most of the nightlife, gambling, top hotels and water activities are concentrated in Juan-les-Pins.
Juan-les-Pins is quite compact. Cozy houses (mostly two-storey), palm-lined alleys, small stores - this is the most common picture of the downtown areas, which for budget travelers are considered the best places to live.
But step onto the Promenade du Soleil and the picture changes dramatically. Snow-white yachts, stunning seascapes, golden beaches and luxurious villas - Joan-les-Pins is in all its glory!
The heart of Joan-les-Pins and at the same time an exclusive vacation area is Cape Antibes. This relatively small plot of land, stretching 4km out to sea, is home to a record number of luxury villas, including Greek billionaire Aristotle Onassis, Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich and others. The bay is often referred to as the Bay of Billionaires (Baie des Milliardaires). This place was chosen by the powerful for a reason: it even breathes in a special way, as if the air is saturated with menthol granules. Each sip is filled with a wonderful freshness.
And celebrities who, for whatever reason, have not yet bought a luxury apartment in Joan-les-Pins stay in one of the luxury hotel complexes, such as the Hotel Du Cap-Eden-Roc. This neighborhood is certainly considered one of the better places to stay.
It would be unfair, however, to say that Cape Antibes is all about villas and luxury hotels. It's also home to the famous Garoup lighthouse, the chapel of Notre-Dame-de-Garoup and the 12th-century Grimaldi Castle, which now houses the Picasso Museum.
