Water temperature in Menton
The most gentle sea in the resort is in July-September (+23-25°C). By the end of October the water gradually cools down and in November it is about +18°C. In winter, the water temperature in the Mediterranean Sea does not allow bathers to go wild: the thermometer shows only +13-14°C. Noticeable warming is felt in early May, when the water temperature in the Mediterranean Sea rises to +17-18°C. The beach season is officially open.
Thanks to its unique location and subtropical climate, Menton has a magnificent nature. The town and its surroundings are lush with citrus orchards, parks and olive groves. And on the coastline nestled picturesque lagoons with azure water. Tides in Mentone are imperceptible, because the Mediterranean Sea is separated from the Atlantic by the Strait of Gibraltar. The water level rises by about 20 centimeters in the evening.
Most of the city's beaches are protected from the waves of the Mediterranean. But there are stretches of coastline where the sea is raging! These areas are specifically designed to attract surfers to the resort.
