Where is Sidari located?
Once a cozy and small village, Sidari has transformed into an excellent resort. Now, not only the locals know exactly where the town of Sidari is located. To put it more precisely, it's still a village, with a population of 386 according to the census. That's not a lot of people, wouldn't you agree? However, during the holiday season, the northern part of Corfu fills up with romantic tourists who come to admire Corfu's famous Love Canal.
The national currency is the euro (EUR).
History of Sidari Resort
Sidari officially began to be considered a tourist destination in the late 1980s. However, don't assume that the town of Sidari was founded not so long ago and is very young. Before that time, the inhabitants of the small village, which belongs to the Esperies municipality of Corfu, made their living from fishing and were perfectly happy. The resort was originally two separate towns but was later merged into one.
