Water temperature in Monte Carlo
The warmest sea in the resort is in July-September (+23-25°C). By the end of October the water gradually cools down and in November its temperature is about +18°C. In winter, the temperature in the Ligurian Sea does not allow bathers to "go wild": the thermometer shows only +13-16°C. A noticeable warming is felt in early or mid-May, when the water temperature in the Ligurian Sea rises to +17-19°C.
The beach season is officially open. The city's beaches are protected from the waves of the Ligurian Sea by breakwaters, although the Mediterranean is not particularly violent as it is.
The tides in Monte Carlo are imperceptible because the Ligurian Sea (which belongs to the Mediterranean) is separated from the Atlantic Ocean by the Strait of Gibraltar. In the evening, the sea level rises by about 20 centimeters.
