How to get to Krakow from the airport

The John Paul II International Airport in Krakow is located 11 km west of the city. We will tell you about all possible ways to get to the city.

How to Get to the City Center

You can reach the center of Krakow in 20-25 minutes by taxi/transfer or 35-40 minutes by bus.

Public Transport

Public transport in Krakow is the most affordable means of transportation.

Bus

You can check the bus schedule on the official website. The bus stop is located directly in front of the airport terminal exit.

There are three bus lines available:

  • Route. Buses 208 (Kraków Airport — Dworzec Główny Wschód), 252 (Kraków Airport — Os. Podwawelskie), and night bus 902 (Kraków Airport — Starowiślna). Get off at the Uniwersytet Jagielloński stop, just a 7-minute walk from the city center.

  • Ticket prices. Tickets can be purchased from a vending machine at the stop or in the airport terminal. Prices vary depending on duration:

    • - 20 minutes — 4.00 PLN;

    • - 60 minutes (single ride) — 6.00 PLN;

    • - 90 minutes — 8.00 PLN.

Krakow Airport

Train

You can reach the city center by train:

  • Travel time. The journey to Kraków Główny station takes about 17 minutes. Trains run every 30 minutes from 4:00 AM to midnight.

  • Station is located next to the main airport terminal and is called Kraków Lotnisko. To get there, go up the escalator in the arrivals hall and cross the bridge leading directly to the platform.

  • Price. A ticket costs 20 PLN. It can be purchased from ticket machines in the terminal or at the station, as well as directly from the train conductor.

Taxi

Airport Taxi is the official transport provider at the airport. The fare depends on distance; a trip to the city center costs around 89–100 PLN. For more details, visit http://mplservices.pl/taxi/. To book, call +(48) 668 307307.

Transfer

You can book a transfer from Kraków Airport through the website krakowairporttransfer or by calling +48 662 905905 (available 24/7). The average fare is 90–110 PLN.

Getting to the Train Station

Public Transport

You can reach the central train station using the high-speed train. The train station and the city center are located nearby, so you will also get off at the Kraków Główny stop. Information about the ticket cost and where to purchase it can be found above.

During nighttime, you can also use the night bus 902 and get off at the Kraków Główny stop (the name of each stop is displayed on the screen inside the bus).

The main bus station in Kraków is located next to the central railway station, so the means of transportation are the same:
