The map of Kraków introduces the city’s main districts — there are a total of eighteen. However, the most attractive for tourists is the district with the highest concentration of historical landmarks — Stare Miasto (Old Town). The map of Kraków divides the Old Town into several sub-districts, all of which are listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
On the official city website, the Kraków map with hotels clearly shows that most accommodations are located here, offering tourists easy walking access to the most fascinating sights of this wonderfully romantic city.
Which district of Kraków should you stay in?
Stare Miasto (Old Town) is the central district of Kraków, literally surrounded by historical landmarks on all sides. If you are used to first-class comfort, you’ll find several excellent — though far from budget-friendly — hotels here, as well as plenty of outstanding restaurants and bars.
Kazimierz is one of Kraków’s districts that’s ideal for travelers on a smaller budget. Since Kazimierz and Stare Miasto are neighboring areas, visitors can reach the historic center on foot in just 15–20 minutes.
Although residential neighborhoods are sometimes described in guidebooks as less safe parts of Kraków, many of them hide spots of genuine tourist interest — for example, in the Nowa Huta or Olsza districts.
