Public Transport in Warsaw
The capital city is home to about two million people, and hundreds of thousands of tourists from around the world visit every year. Fortunately, public transportation in Warsaw is well-developed. Here, you can find:
- Buses (operating with a frequency of 5-10 minutes during the day and every half an hour at night)
- Trams (running from 5 am until 11 pm)
- The metro system
- Suburban trains (Warsaw has three main train stations: Warsaw Central, West, and East)

The approximate cost of a taxi ride is around 3 PLN per kilometer during the day and around 4.5 PLN at night (within the city).
A ride on a city bus will cost you around 2 to 4 PLN (depending on the zone - city/suburb), and the fare is doubled at night. Please note that passengers can purchase regular tickets, multiple-ride tickets (valid for 1 to 7 days), or temporary tickets for rides with transfers.
