Despite the fact that Doha is the largest city in Qatar and is home to half of the country's population, it is still quite small. So the question of where to stay in Doha is irrelevant - there is no division as such and everything is very arbitrary.
Doha is organized in a crescent shape, and the main roads run parallel to the promenade and beach.
The area in the center of Doha is where most of the shopping centers and all the business life is concentrated. Doha's best and most modern hotels are located near the bay, where the most popular beaches are.
The northern part of Doha is considered the best place to live, with luxury real estate and Qatar University.
The main highway runs through the center of the city, crosses the industrial zone in the east of Doha, and continues to the west coast of the country.
