How to get from the airport to Bucharest

Bucharest, the capital of Romania, attracts more and more tourists year after year. Tourist and business traffic is served by Henri Coanda Airport, located 16 kilometers north of Bucharest in Otopeni.

How to get to the city center from the airport

Public transportation

The bus stop is located at the exit of the arrival and departure terminal.

Route. Lines 783 and 784 Express connect Bucharest Henri Coanda International Airport with the city center (Piata Unrii), an expressway. You can view the timetable and stops of the route at website.

Time. The bus departs every 15 minutes. The duration of the trip is about 40 minutes.

Cost per trip is 3.5 RON. The price of a magnetic card valid for two people or two rides is 7 RON. The ticket can be bought at the ticket office with the name "Ratb". Tickets here are in the form of a plastic card (you have to pay 1.5 RON extra for the card), which can be topped up.

Since the main train station and bus station are close by, the modes of transportation are as follows:

  • Route. The 780 Express line connects Bucharest Henri Coanda International Airport with Gara de Nord (the stop of the main train station and bus station).
