What you can take into Slovenia by air is limited. This may include items of personal jewelry, personal use and foodstuffs.

How much alcohol can I bring into Slovenia? One liter of spirits, two liters of liqueurs and fortified wines. You can import up to 4 liters of table wine, up to 6 liters of beer. You can bring in 200 cigarettes, 100 cigarillos, 50 cigars or 250g of tobacco.

Weapons, jewelry, and items that can be recognized as cultural and artistic objects are among the things that are prohibited to bring in and out of Slovenia without additional permits. You can bring 10,000 EUR with you. Do not forget that you, leaving on vacation in Slovenia, need to clearly calculate the time of stay in this country. You will be allowed to enter Slovenia if you have a minimum of 50 EUR per tourist per day in any form, cash or card.

Tax Free in Slovenia.

To get a Tax Free refund, fill out a receipt before check-in and with your passport and receipts go to the customs desk to get stamped. Be prepared to show your purchases - they should be bagged, with labels and price tags. Then check-in, go through passport control and get your refund at the tax free counter.

In Slovenia, all foreign citizens who do not have EU citizenship are entitled to a tax refund (Tax Free Shopping) when exporting goods purchased in the country. Exceptions are cigarettes, alcohol and goods with a price of less than 50 EUR. To get a tax refund, you need a special Refund Cheque, which is issued in large private and all public stores. Look for the Global Refund Tax Free logo at the point of sale.

The customs official will stamp them. It is extremely rare that a full inspection is arranged. After the stamped checks, go to check-in and drop off your luggage. You may get lucky and get a cash refund at the nearest Cash Refund Offise. If the flight is overnight or the refund point is not open for some reason, the check can be mailed to Global Refund to get paid to a personal credit card, or by bank check to a specified address.
