To list the names of Slovenia's attractions would take a whole guidebook or a solid history book. Practically every town, village or hamlet in this wonderful country has its own castle, ancient temple, museum, cave or, at the worst, some interesting wine store.
So, what sights you will come across during your trip to Slovenia, may depend not at all on the tourist guide, but on your desire to make a couple or three discoveries. We risked to collect for you the most important sights of Slovenia, so you know where to start.

The Church of the Ascension of the Virgin Mary on an island in Bled is a place of pilgrimage for many visitors to the country. Lake Bled is beautiful in its own right, and its romantic and austere landscapes are inspiring.

Ljubljana Castle in Ljubljana is located on a high hill, and going to it is already considered a great adventure. This unique structure majestically completes the architectural composition of the capital.
The Cathedral of St. Nicholas in Ljubljana, as well as the Franciscan Church of the Annunciation are considered grandiose places of pilgrimage for the faithful. And visitors to the city in general make it a point to stop by.
The medieval city of Piran is a landmark from edge to edge, and it's hard to single out anything in particular. The cathedrals, monuments, museums and just the streets of this city are worth seeing.
Postojnska Jama are caves at least 20 kilometers long. This attraction is inextricably linked with the Predjamský Castle. So, when you come to Postojna, visit both.
Predjamský Castle is a fortress with a rich history, built on a steep cliff 123 meters high at the end of the XVI century near Postojna. From this height it is convenient to keep an eye on the surrounding forest roads.
Bohinj Lake in the spa region of Bohinj - the beauty of these places has been honored with separate tourist routes. In addition, the Triglav mountain and the most beautiful landscapes of Slovenia are nearby.
Maribor Castle in Maribor looks more like a mansion in the Old Town, and was built in 1483. Oh, and the entire old town center is worth a tour.
Franciscan Church in Maribor is considered one of the architectural dominants of this city. It was built relatively recently, at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries.
The exhibition of stone sculpture Forma Viva in Portorož is a unique open-air museum of creativity in stone, which is located in a beautiful park. It hosts the annual International Exhibition of Stone Sculpture, where artists from all over the world bring their works.
Geverkeneg Castle in Idrija is one of the most popular sites in Slovenia. And the town itself, one of the oldest in Slovenia, is considered a famous tourist attraction.
Capuchin Bridge in Škofje Loka is one of the oldest bridges in Europe, exquisite and picturesque. And, as usual, the old town itself will not leave anyone who loves small picturesque towns indifferent.
Skocjan Caves are the second most popular caves in Slovenia after Postojna Jama. They are located near the village of Matavun.
This is by no means a complete description of Slovenia's attractions. In Maribor, it's hard to walk a hundred meters and not come across a square, museum or temple, which are listed in tourist guides all over the world. And this can be said about most of the ancient cities of Slovenia. So come and see for yourself the beauty of the Balkan country.
