Transportation tips for tourists
In Barcelona: take advantage of special bus routes to explore the sights of the city. Barcelona Bus Tours run throughout the city all year round, but routes may change during different seasons. A day ticket costs 27 EUR and a two-day ticket costs 34 EUR (14 and 18 EUR for children). You buy them directly on the bus.
Use Barcelona's public transport if you want to explore the city without a specific agenda. The metro is the most convenient option.
Be aware that here, as in many other European cities, there is a system of transportation zones. Some routes operate at night and fares remain at daytime levels.

Original prices for transportation in Barcelona: one trip - 2.2 EUR, a day pass within one zone - 7.5 EUR, in two zones - 12 EUR, in three zones - 15.3 EUR, in six zones - 22 EUR. Tickets must be composted, after which they are valid for half an hour; day passes are valid for a day.
As you can see, prices are high, so it's best to buy the Barcelona Card, which gives you free access to two dozen museums and discounts to 30 more, free transportation, discounts at some bars, restaurants, clubs and many other benefits.
