For those who prefer more secluded beaches with unspoiled nature can drive outside the resort, where the 10-kilometer coast of Corralejo begins. This area is considered the best for "mattressing" on the island.
Along the coast runs the highway to the capital Puerto del Rosario. The coastline also offers views of the island of Lobos and the dunes of El Jable.
Locals say that the white sand of the beaches of Corralejo is applied by the wind from the Sahara.
