Where is Santa Susanna located ?
The small, cozy town of Santa Susanna stretches along the Barcelona-Maresme coast. Santa Susanna is a municipality that is part of the province of Barcelona. Santa Susanna is only 60 km from Barcelona and takes less than an hour by bus.
Although the city has a history stretching back almost a millennium, Santa Susanna is small in size. The number of residents in Santa Susanna does not exceed three and a half thousand people. The small towns are stretched along the coast of the Mediterranean Sea. And the southern border of Santa Susanna is contiguous with the city of Pineda de Mar, and the northern border with Malgrat de Mar. A little bit of Santa Susanna history
The date when Santa Susanna was founded can be dated back to the 11th century. It was at this time that peasants began to settle the area around the Alfata River, the territory of present-day Santa Susanna.
From the 12th to the 15th century, watchtowers were built to protect the area from pirates. Many of them have survived to this day. For example Bonet, Mas de Dalt, Mas Rossell, Mas Galter, Can Jordà, Mas Poch, Can Ratés and Can Gelat.
For a long time, Santa Susanna remained a village. It only became a town in the second half of the 20th century.
