Sitges beaches - flying the flag

Sitges beach review: we'll tell you which one is best.

Sitges is a seaside resort town with 17 beaches. 11 of them are within the city limits, there are four to the east and two more in the west of the city. And only the last two are not equipped for recreation and are located in a difficult to access place. All city beaches are sandy, while those outside the city are studded with pebbles.

Be aware of the flags!

Many beaches in Sitges are equipped with colored flags. The green ones are flown when it is absolutely safe to swim there. Yellow flags indicate that it can be dangerous and red flags prohibit swimming. Only the best beaches in Sitges have the blue flag, which is an international quality certificate.

Which is the best beach to choose in Sitges?

For family vacations, San Sebastián beach or the artificial beach Anquines, as it is well protected from storms. Fragata is a sporty beach for young people. There are beach soccer and volleyball courts, and you can rent a water bike. However, sun loungers and umbrellas are not available for rent.
