What to see on Samet
The main priority of the island is the preservation of the natural richness of the world of fauna and flora. The fact is that it is part of the protected Khao Laem Ya National Park. There are no sights here as such, except:
The temple near the pier.
Sightseeing platforms.
Sculptures throughout the island.
But there are plenty of beaches, hotels, and cozy restaurants. There are several free beaches near the Na Dan pier:
Excursions to Samet's nearby islands
To spice up your relaxing vacation a bit, you can take a trip to the nearby islands. All excursions are conducted on boats.
For a budget-friendly excursion program, you can sail to islands that are closer to Samet.
Ko Tala Island
This is the most popular destination for tourists. One side of the island is surrounded by cliffs and the other side has a sandy beach. Vacationers come here to enjoy the tropical scenery and play volleyball.
The price of the tour is 2700 THB.
A snack on the island is included in the price.
Kao Lem Ya - Mu Ko Samet - Island National Park
The whole island belongs to the protected area. Tourists are charged only when entering the National Park. You can wander around the protected areas all day, enjoying nature, fresh air, and tropical views.
There is one nuance here, however, or rather several:
You have to pay 200 THB at the entrance. BUT! The money is charged to tourists who arrived at the entrance to the Park on a songteo, "picking up" vacationers on the beaches.
If a tourist came on foot, everyone will think they've been here for a long time and paid in advance.
They don't take money from motorcycle tourists either: they think they're here for more than one day.
Although there's not much to do on the island, you'll love the clean and uncrowded beaches with clear turquoise water.
