Alanya is a small town. However, despite this, it has an excellent transport infrastructure. And everyone can get anywhere in the city or the surrounding villages without any problems.
Buses
The timetable of transport runs from 6:30 to 24:00.
The resort town has 21 bus routes. All buses stop only at designated stops, which are marked with a "D" (from the word "Durak") against a blue background. They are usually placed near special pavilions. If you stand near such a sign you are letting the driver know that you are to be picked up. But you should hold out your hand and wave for reassurance.
The fare
You can pay the toll by cash or by special Kent Kart which can be bought in a special kiosk.
If you use a card, you have to pay 1.75 TRY for the fare. Preferential bus fare ranges from 0.75 to 1.5 TRY.
Pensioners and children under 3 years old do not have to pay. However, you should have your pension identification card certified by a notary so that you can get the discount.
Important information about buses
All of them are equipped with special electronic screens on which you can see a clear bus traffic plan and the stops along the way. A general route map is displayed separately inside.
Make sure you ask the bus driver to stop where you want him/her to stop and shout the name of the bus stop loudly in advance. There is also a red button near the exit - near the door. You can get off by pressing this button and the driver will be alerted to get off.
Alanya boasts new and comfortable public transport. It has:
separate seating for passengers with children and the elderly;
places for the disabled;
specially for prams.
