Transportation in Dubai

Public transportation in Dubai is:

• The fully automated and mostly above-ground metro (and it is not at all associated with "transportation for the poor"). The cost of a ticket depends on the number of trips, and the fare in the first car is always twice as high as in the others.

• A 24-hour cab service including "female" cars with lady drivers - convenient for female tourists traveling alone. The price of a trip around Dubai in this form of transportation on average is 40-70 AED.

• Buses, driven mostly by tourists and workers, but all the transportation is new and beautiful. The routes are numerous. Tickets are sold at bus stations, with prices depending on the zone and the length of the route (2-6 AED, day pass is 16 AED). Enter through the front door, exit through the back door. Women should not sit in the seats in the first three rows. Stops are ordered by pressing a button.

• Water cabs are docked near hotels and attractions. Tourists who use this Dubai transportation advise not to forget about tipping. The water cab drivers themselves will not demand anything, but by default it is customary to "pamper" them.

For metro, bus and water streetcar rides, you can buy a daily silver card for 20 AED. You will have 14 AED on your account, but there is no limit to the number of rides you can take during its validity period. In general, the prices for public transportation in Dubai are very affordable.
