As frequent air travelers know, it's important to arrive at the airport on time. And if you're flying from Kyiv, you know how important it is to get to the airport on time: traffic jams and heavy traffic often cause you to miss your flight. That's why we've gathered all the information on where and how to get from Kyiv to the airport.
Boryspil Airport
You can get to the main airport of the capital from the railway station, bus station or metro stations, using a cab or Skybus (aka Flight). In this case, you will arrive directly at the terminal. You can also take the subway. Now for more details.
From the train station
Skybus
The Skybus to the airport "Boryspil" departs from the South Terminal of the Central Railway Station (distance - 34.5 km).
The schedule of Skybus buses is easy to remember, they depart around the clock every 15-45 minutes.
Trip time is 50 minutes (if there are traffic jams or you're in the evening rush hour, the journey can take up to two hours).
You can buy a ticket from the driver (price 105 UAH) or at the ticket office of the railway station "Kiev-Passazhirsky" (located in the central building in the hall №3). You can also order a ticket in advance on site. In this case, the fare will be 63 UAH, and you will get the right of priority boarding. Tickets bought online are valid for 48 hours from the time of purchase.
Kyiv Boryspil Express
The Kyiv Boryspil Express departs from track 14 of the railway station Kiev-Passazhirskyi, passes through, and arrives at the international terminal D.

Travel time: 40 minutes.
The fare is 80 UAH. You can buy a ticket at specialized ticket offices at the Central and Southern stations, as well as at self-service kiosks on the 14th track.
Taxi
The fastest, but not the cheapest way to get to the airport. The cost of a cab ride to Boryspil airport is about 300 UAH or even higher, depending on the distance (the average route is 35-45 km). For example, from the Central Railway Station, the trip will cost 200 UAH.
From the bus station
From the Central Bus Station to Boryspil Airport, you can get by bus. To do this, at the bus station take the bus #10, go to the Central Railway Station, go to the South Exit, and take Skybus. The fare in this case will be 5-8 UAH (for the marshrutka) plus 50-105 UAH for Skybus.
How can you quickly get to Boryspil airport from the bus station? By cab. In this case, the trip will cost you from 200 UAH, and the length of the route will be 30-40 km.
From the nearest subway stations
There is no direct subway connection with Boryspil airport. You can get to Kharkivska station, and then get out of the subway and take a Skybus. However, boarding is possible only if there are free seats on the bus. Travel time will take about 20 minutes.
Another option is to take the shuttle buses #316 (from Levoberezhnaya metro station), #317 (from Kharkivska metro station), and go to the center of Boryspil, get off at the stop Leningradskaya (Sobornaya), and change to the bus #2, which stops at Terminal B.

Kiev Airport (Zhulyany)
The airport "Zhulyany" is located within the city, so it can be reached by public transportation. Now more about how you can get to the airport "Zhulyany" from Kiev.
From the railway station
There are buses and shuttles to Zhulyany from Kiev railway station.
Bus № 9 runs daily between the railway station and the airport "Zhulyany". The schedule is from 6:00 to 23:34. Travel time is 35 minutes, fare is 8 UAH. However, please note that in case of traffic jams (usually after 17:00) the trip may take much longer.
You can also get there by suburban route № 368. It runs from 6:30 am to 9:15 pm and costs 20 UAH.
Electric train
One more way is to take a city train, get off at Kyiv-Volynskyi station and walk about 7 minutes to the terminal. The trip will cost 8 UAH.
Taxi
This is the fastest and most convenient way, especially if you have an evening or night flight. However, it's better to order a transfer to Kiev airport directly from the dispatcher, rather than catching a cab at the station, as drivers charge a high fare.
The distance from the station to the airport "Zhulyany" is 6.5 km and you will get there in 15 minutes (if there are no traffic jams). The price varies from 50 to 70 UAH one way.
From the bus station
To "Zhulyan" from the Central bus station of Kyiv you can take a cab. The fare will cost about 70 UAH, and the road will take 30-40 minutes. The distance to the airport from the bus station is 9-11 km.
Route №220 goes to Zhulyany from the Central Bus Station. The ticket costs UAH 8, the time of work of the route is daily from 6:00 to 23:30. The marshrutka stops at the Aviation Museum stop, from which it is half a kilometer to Terminal A. You will spend 45 minutes for the trip.
You can also take bus #119 at the MAUP stop, get off at the Prosveshcheniya Street stop, transfer to bus #368, 302 or 805 and take it to the Anders Street stop. From there to the airport about 10 minutes on foot. The whole trip will take about 40 minutes.
Routes № 239 and 477 also run from the bus station to Zhulyany.
From the nearest metro stations
You can get to Zhulyany from metro station Ploshcha Lva Tolstoho by trolleybus No. 9. The trolleybus runs daily, the ticket costs 8 UAH, working time is 5:45 - 23:47.
From Lukyanivska metro station every day there is a shuttle bus №496 (the fare costs 7 UAH, working time 5:50 - 20:00). You can also take bus #499: it runs daily from 5:25 to 21:30, and the fare costs 7 UAH.
From Shulyavska and Dorogozhichi metro stations to Zhulyany there are marshrutka №565 and trolleybus №22. The marshrutka runs from 6:00 to 22:00 and costs 6 UAH, the trolleybus - from 6:00 to 23:53, the fare is 8 UAH. They work daily.
So, there are a lot of options to get to the airports of Kiev and you can always find the best one, just keep in mind that on weekday evenings in Kiev traffic jams are not uncommon and you may need more time to get there.
