There are many ways to get to Kyiv, but the railroad is the most convenient. There are 3 railway stations located on the Pryvokzalnaya square of the capital: Central, Southern, and Suburban. The first two are located in one building and are considered to be a single unit. Central railway station of Kyiv was built in 1868, after which it was repeatedly restored, the last large-scale renovation of the station building was carried out in 2001, then the South station was built as an unloading of the Central station.

The building of Kyiv railway station has a very great historical value for the country. It was reconstructed according to the project of architect Alexander Verbitsky and is made in the style of neo-baroque and constructivism.

The railway station of the Main Station "Kyiv-Passenger" serves trains of all directions in Ukraine, there is a connection with the countries of Europe and the Middle East. Exit to long-distance trains is possible from the underground passage, as well as through the ground passage of the main building of the station.

How to Get There

The Central Railway Station of Kyiv is connected to the Southern Railway Station by a ground passage. Therefore, in many cases, to quickly get to your desired destination, it is easier to go to the other side of the station and take the appropriate transportation.

To the Subway: Just 100 meters from the central exit of the Main Railway Station is the Vokzalna metro station.

To the Airport:

  • "Boryspil" Airport - Take bus № 322 (stop near the exit from the Southern station). The fare is 100 UAH, and the travel time is approximately 1 hour.
  • "Zhulyany" Airport - Take bus № 368 or № 805 to Anders street. The fare is 6 UAH. From the Central Railway Station, you can catch it at the Simona Petliura stop (travel time - 27 min.), and from the Southern Railway Station, it stops at the exit (travel time - 19 min.).

To the Central Bus Station:

  • From the Central Railway Station, take bus № 825 to Demeevskaya metro station (stop near the exit from the station). The fare is 6 UAH, and the travel time is approximately 27 min.
  • From the Southern Railway Station, take bus № 507 to Demeevska metro station (stop at the exit from the station). The fare is 7 UAH, and the travel time is about 43 min. Alternatively, you can go to the central entrance of the railway station and take the shuttle bus No. 825 (travel time - 33 min.).
