Properties of Lake Pomorie
The water of the lake is much more salty and saturated with various minerals than the waters of the Dead Sea. It cures many diseases of the skin, nerves and gives the joy of motherhood.
The water level in Lake Pomorie is lower than in the sea. The lake flows into the sea through a canal near Aheloy. The width of the isthmus is 50 meters.
On the territory of the lake you can see many information stands about the plants found here. The flora of the lake is rich in algae - there are more than 70 species of algae and 80 species of different plants.
Mud wraps
Tourists can often be seen here wrapping themselves with healing clay from the bottom of the lake (here it is the most rich in minerals).

On the territory of Pomorie Lake there is a lagoon, finished with a sandy spit and a dam. The spit is a good place to relax - it is located close to Pomorieand it is not crowded.

Salt Museum
Since time immemorial, salt has been actively mined in these places. This gave rise to the Salt Museum, located practically on the shore of the lake.

Bird Sanctuary
The lake area is a huge conservation area with many feathered inhabitants. One of the largest bird migratory routes is adjacent through these lands. In spring tourists can observe the process of hatching. And in summer - how the offspring are trained to hunt and swim.
In 2001, the authorities decided to make the lake and its surrounding areas a protected area. 268 species of birds can be found here.
Birds have taken a liking to the lake not only because of its location, but also because of the abundance of food - there are many reptiles, amphibians, fish and invertebrates.
The Visitor Reception Building
Many of the species represented here are on the verge of extinction. The Bulgarian authorities have built a reception building next to the salt museum. Here everyone can not only listen to entertaining lectures by ornithologists and watch documentaries, but also climb up to the platform. With the help of binoculars or a telescope you can get a closer look at the inhabitants of the lake.

Walk. If you live in Pomorie, go to Prof. Stoyanov Street and follow it towards Sunny Beach.
Bus. Communication is well developed here and you can get a bus to any point in Pomorie.
Car. You can get there only up to the beginning of the spit, then the road is closed.
Travel Tips
When to go to the lake. It is best to go to the spit early in the morning in windy weather - you will be accompanied by a light cool breeze. Going at such a time is not tiring, and small gnats are not so annoying. If you're unlucky with the weather, head down to the beach, where there aren't as many midges.
Moving around the area. Since there are several dams on the lake. The paths you used to be able to walk on are partially flooded, so we don't advise you to risk traveling on them.
Therapeutic Muds. Do not abuse mud wraps without consulting your doctor. The presence of hydrogen sulfide and a host of chemical elements, coupled with the scorching sun, can worsen your original condition.
