The rainy season in Sozopol does not last long — April, May and December, however it should be noted that even in these months the number of cloudy and rainy days is only 4-6. Most of the year in the city is sunny and dry.

On St. John’s Island lives a rare species of Mediterranean seal, along with 72 bird species, many of which are on the brink of extinction.
