In Old Sozopol, you will find an art gallery, an ethnographic museum, a museum by the fortress wall, and a preserved medieval Christian complex in the town center.
Tourists are delighted by the old two- and three-story houses, where the ground floor was used for practical purposes. Among the most interesting is the Marieta Stefanova House, built on the city wall; today it houses an ethnographic museum as well as the Thracian Khan, impressive for its wooden carvings.
The architectural complex “Southern City Wall and Tower” unites monuments from different eras. Several necropolises have been uncovered in the Sea Park as well as in the Kalfat, Harmanite, and Budzhak districts.
The ancient city was surrounded by a massive stone wall. Remnants of the wall include blocks three to four meters high, as well as one of the towers built around 511 under Emperor Anastasius.
