City Transportation
Rovinj doesn't have traditional public transportation such as buses, shuttle buses, or trams. The best way to explore the city's attractions is by walking. Even a short walk to the nearest store from your hotel or private apartments will only take 5-10 minutes.
If you prefer, you can rent a bike as there are excellent bicycle paths along the entire coastline.
Cost
The most popular mode of transportation within Rovinj is by taxi. An approximate cost for a trip within the city is around 50 HRK.
If you want to reach one of the islands in the archipelago, you can take a boat from the city center or the pier near the Park Hotel. The ticket price for this Rovinj transportation is 15 HRK.
For long-distance transportation from Rovinj to other Croatian cities, it's advisable to choose the bus service, as taxis can be expensive. Rovinj is connected to Pula (40-45 minutes), Porec (1 hour), and Zagreb (5-8 hours) via the coastal highway.
For visiting attractions like Plitvice Lakes, taking guided excursions is a more cost-effective option. Tourist buses use toll roads, significantly reducing travel time.
