Cannes is a great place to shop for famous brands at low prices. The best time to come here for brand-name clothing, accessories and Provençal delicacies is in April. For four days at the beginning of the month, Cannes hosts the Shopping Festival. It's a time when:
- Prices for accommodation in hotels can drop to a minimum (in their reviews of shopping in Cannes, many "experienced" tourists advise to contact the hotel and agree on the cost of accommodation), and in addition to the room are given coupons for discounts, invitations to shows, parties;
- Boutiques Yves-Saint Laurent, Christian Dior, Celine, Gucci and other brands, as well as shopping centers in Cannes reduce the price of goods up to 50%;
- demonstrations of new collections of prestigious brands, fashion shows in the Palais des Festivals attract the eyes of fashionistas and fashionistas from all over the world.
Of course, if there were outlet stores in Cannes, branded items would be going for throwaway prices. But, alas, there are no outlets in or near Cannes. You'll find them in the north of France or in Italy, in Ventimiglia near the border.
The City of Festivals can only please with the presence of large
malls. In Cannes, the largest of these is located between Rue Antibes and the seafront. Couldn't find anything to choose from on the Croisette? Come here or go to rue Meynadier, to the ready-to-wear stores.
When shopping in Cannes, reviews suggest you should definitely check out Bouteille the best perfume and cosmetics store, according to locals. There are tons of samples and discounts.
Go to Maiffret for fruits confits - fruits in caramel. Go to the Cave de Forville for wine tasting and spirits, such as pastis, an aperitif with a distinct anise flavor.
When you're out hunting, keep in mind that stores are usually open Monday through Saturday, opening at 10 a.m. or even later, and may be closed for a 2-hour break during the day.
