Cannes is an excellent place to buy goods from well-known brands at low prices. The best time to come for branded clothing, accessories, and Provençal delicacies is in April. During four days at the beginning of the month, the shopping festival takes place in Cannes. This is the time when:
hotel prices can drop to a minimum (experienced tourists often recommend contacting the hotel directly to arrange accommodation costs), and rooms come with discount coupons, invitations to fashion shows, and parties;
boutiques such as Yves-Saint Laurent, Christian Dior, Celine, Gucci, and other brands, as well as shopping centers in Cannes, reduce prices on goods by up to 50%;
showcases of new collections from prestigious brands and fashion shows at the Palais des Festivals attract fashion enthusiasts from all over the world.
Of course, if there were outlets in Cannes, branded items would be available at rock-bottom prices. But unfortunately, there are no outlets in or near Cannes. You can find such stores in the north of France or in Italy, for example in Ventimiglia, not far from the border.
The festival city can only delight visitors with its large shopping centers. The largest one in Cannes is located between Rue d’Antibes and the seafront. Didn’t find anything on the Croisette? Come here or head to Rue Meynadier for ready-to-wear stores.
During shopping in Cannes, be sure to visit Bouteille — the best perfumery and cosmetics store, according to locals. Here, you can get plenty of samples and enjoy discounts.
Stop by Maiffret to purchase fruits confits — fruits in caramel. Visit Cave de Forville, where you can taste wine and buy some spirits, such as the aperitif pastis, which has a distinctly anise flavor.
When “hunting” for shopping, keep in mind that stores usually operate from Monday to Saturday, opening at 10:00 or later, and may close for a two-hour break during the day.
