No ski resort can do without lifts. Chamonix-Mont-Blanc has 49 ski lifts in total. These include 6 funiculars, 4 gondolas, 18 chairlifts, and 21 drag lifts.
The season in Chamonix opens in early December, while skiing on the glacier is possible year-round. Some ski areas may be closed depending on weather conditions. The full official winter season runs from December 20 to the end of April. During this time, all resort lifts are in operation. In summer, only the upper skiing section remains open.
The cost of a ski lift pass in Chamonix-Mont-Blanc depends on the duration, ski area, and age. Discounts are available for children and seniors, with daily ski passes starting at 48 EUR. An adult skier will pay around 57 EUR. When purchasing a multi-day pass, the daily rate is usually lower. You can reach the lifts from your hotel by taxi, rental car, or a hotel shuttle bus.
