If you don’t want to pay for the lift every time, it’s much easier to buy a ski pass. Upon arriving in Chamonix-Mont-Blanc, you can purchase a ski pass that allows skiing in three countries! It covers all the mountain slopes, so the Italian resort of Courmayeur and the Swiss Verbier will also be available to you. This ski pass is called Mont Blanc Unlimited.
A longer-term pass is always cheaper. There are plenty of discounts for seniors, children, and teenagers. Chamonix also offers a family rate. The price of a ski pass for one person (ages 15–64) is about 70–80 EUR. Discounts can reduce the cost to around 60 EUR, and the price for a senior one-day pass is about 60 EUR. A family of two adults and one child will pay about 200–220 EUR.
A full two-week pass will cost from 750 EUR for one person, from 2000 EUR for a family, and around 600 EUR for children and seniors.
There are slightly cheaper ski passes for skiing within the valley. The price for one adult is about 50–60 EUR, for a child 40–50 EUR, and for a senior 50 EUR. The family rate starts at 150 EUR. This ski pass is called Chamonix Le Pass. It does not include the Grands Montets summit, but it does cover all slopes between 1000 and 2500 meters.
