Today, Kutaisi is an ancient city where architectural styles from the Byzantine era, the Middle Ages, the Soviet period, and the present day intricately intertwine. Kutaisi is the second-largest city in Georgia. In 2013, the parliament was relocated here, and a new building was constructed for it, earning Kutaisi the title of the second capital.
