There is no single answer to the question of how much money to bring to Georgia. For a student, one amount will be sufficient, while a family vacation in Tbilisi is a different story, and for those accustomed to luxury, the budget will be completely different.
Let's look at the main expenses
Accommodation. A basic hostel will cost around 10–18 USD per night. If you’re traveling to Tbilisi as a couple and plan to stay in a budget hotel, expect to pay 45–60 USD per night. Multiply these numbers by the number of days to get an approximate total.
Food. In both hostels and hotels, the price usually includes breakfast. However, you'll need to take care of lunch and dinner yourself. You can grab a khachapuri or eat at local cafes. In general, plan to spend at least 25–40 GEL per person per day.
Transport. If you plan to explore not only Tbilisi but also other interesting places in Georgia, renting a car is a good idea (especially for groups). Otherwise, public transport will suffice: a ride on the metro or bus costs 1 GEL, and a minibus ride is 1.5 GEL. If you plan to travel frequently, buying a travel card is more economical.
Excursions, entertainment, shopping. To keep a memory of your trip to Tbilisi, check prices for wine tours and souvenirs. You might also want to join a group tour around the city or nearby areas. Altogether, these could cost an additional 150–250 GEL.
