Tbilisi Pedestrian Routes

Walking routes in Tbilisi invariably get good reviews. It can be a regular walk through the main sites of the Old City.

An interesting tourist route through Tbilisi lies along the left bank of the Kura River, starting with the famous Flea Market (Market on the Dry Bridge) and ending with Meydan Square. You will see the House of Justice, Kolkhoz Square, the Puppet Theater, the oldest church in the city - Anchichati Church, the Peace Bridge, the History Museum, a monument to Sergey Parajanov and other attractions.

Narikala Fortress, Tbilisi

When choosing routes in Tbilisi, don't forget the Narikala fortress. And be sure to combine the hiking route with climbing the new cable car. Come to Rike Square, and from there for only 1 GEL you can take a spectacular ride over the Kura River to the Sololak Ridge. The first thing that catches your eye in the fortress is the church of St. George, decorated with frescoes. Nearby is a luxurious botanical garden.

Other walking routes in Tbilisi lead to the southwest, to Chavchavadze Avenue and Turtle Lake. In summer, you can swim here and ride catamarans.

The funicular to Mtatsminda, which is only 2 GEL uphill, is no less interesting to drive to the northwest. On the way to the funicular you can see Leselidze Street, Bethlehem Street, Writers House and the house of industrialist Bozardjianz.
