Bray-Cervinia, one of the oldest ski resorts in Italy, is located on the southern slope of the Matterhorn, not far from the border with Switzerland. You can reach the neighboring country by taking the lift and purchasing an international pass that covers both Breuil-Cervinia and Zermatt.
The main skiing areas in Breuil-Cervinia include Plan Maison, Laghi Cima Bianche, and Plateau Rosa. Most of the slopes are suitable for beginners and those with intermediate skill levels. The resort is popular among families with children, as it offers everything needed to learn winter sports, including a fully equipped children's snow park. Convenient transportation between slopes is provided by 8 funiculars and 23 ski lifts, including 2 cable cars, 11 chairlifts, and 10 T-bar lifts.
The Bardoney slope is considered the best for professional athletes. Most of the black runs are located on the Swiss side, but it's important to keep in mind one important detail. When heading to Zermatt, make sure to watch the time to return before the lift closes. Taking a taxi is an option, but it can be quite expensive (around 300 EUR).
For snowboarders, Breuil-Cervinia offers several fun parks, a border park on Plateau Rosa, half-pipes, and Zermatt features a boarder-cross track.
