The spa town is situated at an impressive altitude of 2066 metres near the Matterhorn slope. Bray-Cervinia closes the valley of the Valtournanche and is surrounded by four glacier-covered peaks.
The town itself is 27km from Châtillon in the Aosta Valley and belongs to the commune of Vulturnanche. Zermatt in Switzerland is also nearby, just 10km down the road from the Theodoul Pass.
Given the fact that the resort is situated in the north-west of the world-famous "boot," the Euro is the currency of Italy.
The history of Brei Cervinia can be traced back to the 18th century. At that time mountaineers tried to conquer the impregnable peak of Cervino. It was this peak that gave rise to the foundation of the town of Bray-Cervinia.
