Where to eat in Cagliari: iconic restaurants and prices

Prices in Cagliari restaurants vary considerably. In inexpensive restaurants and beach bars you can get a good hot meal for 20-30 EUR per person. Sometimes a buffet lunch is offered for that price. Cafés in Cagliari also offer breakfasts consisting of coffee, a bun and a glass of mineral water - 3 - 5 EUR.

At the more elaborate restaurants, such as Lord Nelson, you'll have to pay 70-80 EUR per person. You will be spoilt for choice with delicious fish, seafood, meat, pasta, and desserts.

And when you visit Ristorante Martinelli's, you can entrust the choice of dishes to the serving staff. Mixed fish starters and the freshest hot dishes leave you in awe. And the portions are enormous!

Restaurants in Cagliari do not usually offer menus in English. The most popular restaurants in Cagliari require reservations in advance (e.g. Antica Hostaria, Flora, Convento San Giuseppe). In Cagliari cafes and restaurants it is customary to tip the waiter about 10% of the bill.

Often the tip is already included, but waiters do not stress this fact to their customers. Some establishments include a service charge on the bill. It is added to each bill, i.e. customers who place two separate orders pay for the service twice.
