For tourists who have already explored the sights on their own, it's possible to join excursions on the island of Capri, which can be arranged upon request by the hotel staff. We recommend starting with a ferry ride to Sorrento and strolling through the historic streets of the resort. As for the cost of excursions on Capri, expect to pay between 30 and 100 EUR, depending on the route and group size. Besides Sorrento, you can also visit the heroic cities of Pompeii, Herculaneum, Naples, and Amalfi.
While on a sightseeing tour of the island of Capri, don’t miss the chance to visit the second-largest town — Anacapri. There, be sure to see the Villa San Michele, home to a pink marble Egyptian sphinx. Nearby is a cable car that takes visitors up to Mount Solaro.
A great alternative to a bus tour of the island is a visit to the Mater Cave. Deep within Mount Tuoro lies a grotto dedicated to Cybele, a deity not part of the Roman pantheon. It was later converted into a nymphaeum — a sanctuary devoted to nymphs — and today it contains traces of ancient art.
