The most convenient way to get to the city is by the “SITA/ATAF” express bus. The ticket costs 6 EUR if purchased online in advance and 8 EUR if bought from the driver. Buses run every 30 minutes from 06:00 to 23:30. The final stop is the main station “Santa Maria Novella”. A taxi ride will cost around 22–26 EUR during the day and up to 30 EUR at night and on weekends.
You can also take the T2 tram line, which departs directly from the airport. It goes to Piazza dell’Unità Italiana (just steps away from the train station). The ride takes about 20 minutes, and the ticket costs only 1.50 EUR. Tickets can be bought at vending machines at the stop or via app.
If you're traveling with large luggage or late at night, a taxi might be the more convenient option. The fare is fixed for the airport–city center route but does not include baggage (1 EUR per piece) and night surcharge (approximately 2 EUR). Make sure the driver uses the taximeter or confirm the price in advance.
