If you only have one or two days to explore Florence, it may feel like there's not enough time to see everything. However, we have selected a walking itinerary for you that will allow you to immerse yourself in the magical atmosphere of the city.
The tourist route in Florence should begin with a visit to the Santa Maria del Fiore Cathedral. From there, you can head to Piazza della Signoria, which offers a magnificent view of the Palazzo Strozzi. You can then continue your walking tour of Florence by strolling through Piazza della Repubblica or visiting Palazzo Vecchio.
If you turn left at the first intersection, after 2 minutes you will reach the Bargello Palace, and after another 7 minutes you will reach the Baptistery of San Giovanni. From here, along Via dei Servi, you can get to the Orphanage - the second brilliant creation of Brunelleschi after the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore.
Follow Piazza San Marco to San Marco Monastery and from there to Palazzo Medici Riccardi. If you turn right from the latter onto Via de Gori, go along it and turn left through one intersection, you will see the Church of San Lorenzo in all its glory.
An excellent end to a walk around the city will be a visit to the most graceful bridges in Florence - the Holy Trinity and Ponte Vecchio. After that, be sure to climb the hill above the Arno River, on which the picturesque suburb of Fiesole is located. It offers perhaps the best view of Florence.
It remains to choose a convenient flight , and get ready for a wonderful walk around the city.
