The most popular form of urban transport in Florence is buses. There are such types of buses here: ordinary, bussini ecologici (small, environmentally friendly, accommodating up to 15 people), night buses (for trips after 22:00; they can be identified by the black frame around the number).

Check the schedule at each stop — it differs on weekdays and weekends.
Board the bus through the front and rear doors; exit through the middle doors.

Ticket prices
Bus tickets can be bought at newspaper and tobacco kiosks or directly from the driver. Transportation prices in Florence:
90 minutes — 1.50 EUR (at a kiosk) or 2.50 EUR (from the driver);
3 hours — 4.50 EUR;
Full day — 5.50 EUR;
Monthly pass — from 35 EUR.
Taxis in Florence are expensive: starting fare — about 3.30 EUR during the day, 1.10 EUR per km, luggage fee — 1 EUR. At night, on weekends and holidays, fares are 20–25% higher.
