Public transport
The most popular form of urban transport in Florence is buses. There are such types of buses here: ordinary, bussini ecologici (small, environmentally friendly, accommodating up to 15 people), night buses (for trips after 22:00; they can be identified by the black frame around the number).
Tips for traveling in this type of transport:
- watch the schedule at each stop - it's different on weekdays and weekends;
- entrance to the bus - through the front and rear doors, exit - through the middle;
- At the station, at the information office of the transport company Informazioni ataf, you can get a map of bus routes;
- be sure to validate your tickets.
Fare
You can buy a bus ticket at newsstands, tobacconists or from the driver. The fare in this form of transport in Florence for an hour is 1 EUR. Within 3 hours - 3.9 EUR, for the whole day - 4.5 EUR, subscription for a month - 31 EUR.
Taxi in Florence is expensive: landing price - 2.5 EUR, for 1 km - 0.8 EUR, for luggage - 0.6 EUR. At night, rates are twice as expensive.
