Nairobi's public transportation
Although the city has no subway or streetcars, the transportation infrastructure of Kenya's capital is quite advanced by African standards.
Besides cabs (starting at KES 635), Nairobi's popular public transportation is buses. However, the comfort of buses often leaves much to be desired, so during the day both locals and tourists often ride in private matatatu minibuses (matatasi) for 12-25 passengers.
Fare
Transportation prices in Nairobi are as follows: a matatatu fare costs between 160 and 470 KES depending on the distance. A single bus ride costs KES 65 to 145.
Routes
To get to neighboring cities, you can use local rail transport or airline services.
Travelers who have been to Kenya warn of the capital's chaotic traffic, frenetic pace and endless traffic jams.
