Where to go in Malta

Dreaming of traveling to Malta? tripmydream suggests the best cities for sightseeing, sea or ski vacations.

Where exactly should you go or go to in Malta when you come there on vacation? The Maltese archipelago is located 93 km south of Sicily and 300 km from North Africa. It comprises six islands, of which two are inhabited: Malta and Gozo (or Gozo in some readings). The island of Comino has only a couple dozen inhabitants. The islets of Filfa, Cominotto and St. Paul, on which, if legend has it, in 70 AD the Apostle Paul was thrown after a shipwreck, are uninhabited.

Gozo is smaller than Malta. It is 14.5 km long and 7.2 km wide. There is a helipad 2.5 km from Victoria, the island's capital. There is a ferry service between Malta and Gozo. The most important port of Gozo is Mgarr.

Comino is the smallest inhabited island in the Maltese archipelago. The quiet life of a few peasant families is not disturbed by the rumble of cars or the noise of civilization. There are ferries between Comino, Malta and Gozo, the transfer takes 20 minutes.

The peculiarity of Malta remains that there are no separate areas that somehow stand out for tourists. Hotels are numerous, as well as places to go to. And many cities somehow very imperceptibly flow into each other. Nevertheless, we will name the most common and popular resorts.
