The tourist season in Bar lasts from mid-April to early November. It has a typical Mediterranean climate: prolonged dry summers, mild winters with frequent rains (up to 40 rainy days per season). In the area around Lake Skadar, Bar's climate and nature take on continental characteristics, with strong fluctuations in daytime and nighttime temperatures.
There is no pronounced rainy season in Bar - the maximum amount of precipitation falls fairly evenly, from the second half of November to early April. One of the characteristic features of Bar's climate is its health-improving effect. The air here is extremely saturated with iodine and pine vapors, so vacation in Bar is often recommended for children and adults suffering from respiratory diseases.
All of Bar's most interesting wildlife is concentrated in the sea - not without reason this resort is considered the main diving center of Montenegro. Here you can see sea urchins and octopuses, many species of molluscs, giant lobsters and cuttlefish. What is especially pleasant, these representatives of Bara's fauna can not only be seen, but also tasted in one of the seaside restaurants. Sometimes even dolphins and pygmy sharks swim in, and if you are very lucky, you will see monk seals. The Skadar Lake area is home to about 300 species of birds, many of which are rare.
The characteristic vegetation of Bar is conifers (pines, junipers and cypresses) and olive trees. In the vicinity of the Bar Riviera there are many orchards and vineyards, as well as whole meadows of healing aromatic herbs. The local wormwood tea is particularly famous for its warming effect in cold weather and for helping to fight colds.
