Since Bar is a seaside town, local restaurants offer almost all edible inhabitants of the Adriatic. Mackerel, octopus, mussels, seabass, flounder, dorada - you just choose the fish or "sea creature" you like, and in 20-25 minutes you'll have your dish ready!
Reviews of those who have visited Bara's restaurants highly recommend trying the calamari stuffed with shrimp with garlic-olive sauce and boiled potatoes, the local mussels with tomato and white wine sauce, and the flavorful soup riblia chorba.
Bar also has its own fast food, or, as they call it here, brza ela. It is an inexpensive (2-4 EUR) tasty meal - a huge cutlet (two fingers thick!) of three kinds of meat with sliced smoked brisket and cheese is put into a flatbread, supplemented with tomatoes, onions and paprika. It turns out to be a very hearty Montenegrin big mac. There's also a "sea" version of fast food, with vendors selling battered squid, octopus and small fish on the streets.
