A lot of people come to Budva every year in search of new experiences, among them many professional photographers. Thanks to them, panoramic photos of Budva's interesting places can be seen in any guidebook. Ordinary tourists also try to keep up with the professionals, looking for the best angles for their photographic masterpieces. We will try to make this task easier for them by providing a list of the most successful places for amateur photo shoots.

Popular resort locations

The most interesting, colorful, and original places in Budva can be conditionally distributed according to a certain principle. Someone likes to take pictures of local historical sights, someone likes to take selfies on the beach, and someone fundamentally shoots nature. So for the convenience of tourists, we've compiled all the best places to shoot in the following order.

Old Town

It's free to enter, and the city itself is very small - you can literally walk around it in a couple hours. It's hard to give a specific angle here, as you can shoot everything from everywhere - the maze of narrow streets with cozy houses, the fortress wall built in the XV century to protect against Turkish invasion.

You can get a rooftop-level view of the town by climbing the wall, paying an entrance fee of 1.5 EUR. You can walk completely around the perimeter of the wall, look at Budva from a height, look into the streets from an unusual angle and take unique pictures.

In the Old Town, you can find an interesting place for shooting, which is unfamiliar to most tourists - a door leading directly into the sea. There are not many people there, so the photos are quite good. It's not easy to find the door - you have to find a narrow alley and go through the restaurant.

The Citadel

The view is very beautiful from the lookout, specially equipped for tourists. Entrance there is also paid - 3.5 EUR, but it is worth it. It's especially beautiful during sunset.

While visiting the Citadel, you can take great pictures in the Library. It is basically one room with an original interior, where there are a lot of old books You are allowed to sit in the chairs, so you get very good photos here.

Churches and temples

The Cathedral of St. John the Baptist is considered the first most beautiful in Budva. The pictures are amazingly beautiful in the evening when the illumination is on.

Not bad photos come out of the small Church of St. Mary "in Punta" 840, which currently houses a free museum.

You can also capture Budva's youngest church, the Orthodox Church of the Holy Trinity, against a backdrop of palm trees. Nearby, tourists usually get to the observation deck, from which the beaches of Mogren and the endless sea are clearly visible.

Mogren Fortress

Few people know that above the beaches of Mogren are the ruins of a 19th-century fortress. Although it is not very well preserved, it offers amazing views of the sea, Nikola Island, Jaz beach, and part of Budva. Tourists are not taken there, so you need to get to those places yourself - on the highway from the center of Budva, and you need to walk for about half an hour.

Slovenska Plaža

Walk through a very picturesque Greek-style neighborhood, and take good photos, you can walk to the southeastern part of Budva. Unlike the new town, where villas are built haphazardly, it is very colorful and pleasant. White walls and blue windows of houses, stone sidewalk, sculptures and installations and a lot of greenery - all this does not leave indifferent anyone who gets there armed with a camera.

The Islands

It's possible to feel like a pioneering traveler if you find a beautiful perspective to shoot St. Nicholas Island. It is wonderfully visible from anywhere in the city, bathed by the crystal-clear waters of the sea.

The second picturesque island is Sveti Stefan, the hallmark of Montenegro, located 7 km from Budva. On the whole territory of the island spreads a five-star hotel. From the outside all the buildings of the island seem to be real medieval houses. Along the coast on the way to Budva there is a beautiful King's Park, which offers the best views of the Budva Riviera and St. Stephen's Island.

Boka-Kotorskaya Bay

This is one of the main attractions of Budva, which all vacationers want to photograph. In order to get good pictures, you should look for an angle on the observation decks of the town or in the picturesque corners of the mountains.

Beaches

There are three places to relax on the coast in Budva:

  • Slovenski
  • The most beautiful and very crowded, conventionally divided in half by a picturesque grotto;

  • Mogren
  • From there you have a wonderful view of the old part of the city;

  • the beach near the Old Town
  • The fortress walls, which are still standing today, allow you to get original pictures.

Sculpture "Dancer from Budva"

A symbol of the city, located on the rocky shore of the Budva Riviera. The graceful statue of a girl dancing on a rock, which looks magical against the mountains and the sea, is a real find for photographers.

Budva has a lot of interesting objects and shooting opportunities. Very beautiful photos of the city are obtained by paragliding, climbing the slopes of the mountains, and many travelers catch amazing shots during boat trips.
