Budva's public transportation consists of buses that serve the entire municipality, operating along the Jadranska avtomagistrala. You can check the frequency of bus services using the timetables at the stops. For instance, buses to Sveti Stefan beach (priced at 1.5 EUR) depart approximately every ten minutes, while those to Petrovac run approximately every hour. However, the schedule for transportation in Budva can vary depending on the season and other factors. For instance, during the summer, additional buses may run to beaches like Jaz, Trsteno, and Ploce.
Routes and Prices
For tourists, a helpful tip is to check the current bus schedule at the bus station, conveniently located near the center next to the post office. You can board the bus at either the final stop (for most routes, it's near the Perla restaurant on Mediteranska Street) or at any other point along the route. Payment for transportation in Budva can be made directly to the driver. A ticket for the Olimpia Express, for example, costs 2.5 EUR.
Additionally, from the bus station, you can find regular bus services to various destinations throughout Montenegro, including Herceg Novi (approximately two hours), Kotor (about twenty minutes), Bar, Podgorica (approximately an hour), and even to Dubrovnik in Croatia.
Water transportation is a popular choice in Budva, allowing you to take a boat to St. Nicholas Island or nearly anywhere along the picturesque coastline.
Taxis in the resort are readily available either by hailing one on the street or booking via phone. Prices for taxi rides within Budva typically cost around 5 EUR, while trips to nearby settlements might be around 10 EUR. Most official taxis operate with meters.
