Ski slopes are considered to be the most important asset of Kranjska Gora. All the main ski slopes of Kranjska Gora are directly adjacent to the town, as well as 3 km away from it. At the height of the tourist season, lighted slopes are open from 19 to 22 hours. Fans of cross-country skiing can try their hand on a 40 km flat track.
On Mount Vitranz you can see the ski slopes of Kranjska Gora, which are intended for more experienced skiers. A little further away are the slalom slopes, suitable for lovers of speed and extreme sports.
The skiing season in the mountains starts in December and lasts until April. During this period the snow cover is at its thickest. Even in winters with little snow, the whole area of Kranjska Gora is covered with abundant layers of snow, as snow cannons are always ready for this purpose.
The 1.8 km long ski slope is the first in terms of length. In addition, the mountain slopes boast a toboggan run and a well-equipped park for snowboarders.
