Port de Pollensa is a tiny town in the cozy bay of Pollensa on the north coast of Mallorca. It is a truly paradisiacal place. There are no heavy rains in Port de Pollensa, there is always enough sun and sea. The Serra de Tramuntana protects the bay from cold winds, and pine forests protect the city and its surroundings from excessive heat. Most of the beaches of Port de Pollensa are cozy little coves, where pine trees come almost to the water, creating shade. The white sand of the beaches gives the coast a magical appearance, and complete it with clear waters of the Mediterranean Sea.
Port de Pollensa was once a fort to protect Pollensa, which was then a trading town. Now Pollensa, located six kilometers from the former fort, is an architectural monument. No one lives in the old town, all residences and hotels are concentrated in Port de Pollensa. The reason for this change of roles was the harbor, which became the real heart of the city. And since the 20s of the XX century Port de Pollensa began to develop as a resort, and the beaches played a decisive role in this.
