Unfortunately, Puerto de la Cruz's airport has not yet been built and there are no plans to accommodate it. Tourists get to the city via the island's two main international airports: the northern and southern airports. The northern one, Los Rodeos, is located near Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Today it is better known as Tenerife North and has codes TFN (IATA), GCXO (ICAO). The layout of Tenerife Airport has one runway, six telescopic ramps, freeway ramps, a parking lot and a terminal building with 12 gates and 4 floors. You can find out about other services on the airport website.
The second international airport is Queen Sofia Tenerife South. It was opened back in 1978 by the Queen of Spain, after whom it is named. It is the main international airport of the island. It has IATA codes: TFS, ICAO codes: GCTS; Aeropuerto de Tenerife Sur. Serves tourist flights of more than four dozen airlines in the world with a total passenger traffic of about 9 million people.
Reina Sofia Airport includes one modern terminal, medical center, tourist office, VIP lounge, banking facilities, duty free stores, restaurants, and playgrounds. There is also a comfortable parking lot at Tenerife South Airport. For more information on air harbor operations, call +34-922-75-92-00, and virtual scoreboards are available on the airport website.
