How to get to Puerto de la Cruz depends on which airport your plane arrived at. If you landed at the northern airport, you'll be within easy reach of the city - 25km by bus route 343, 104 or 102. The cost of the trip is 4,75 EUR. If the plane landed at the southern airport, the distance to Puerto de la Cruz will be 90 km. You have to take route 343. You can also take direct bus flights that depart directly from airports. They arrive in the city at the Estacion de bus station, which is located between Calle de Cupido and Calle del Pozo in its western part. Intercity bus fares range from 11.2 to 20.14 EUR.
If you want to get to your destination a little faster, you can take a cab. A taxi from Tenerife South Airport to Puerto de la Cruz costs from 100 EUR (+25% after 22:00 and at weekends) and from Tenerife Norte from 45 EUR (the fare outside the city is just over 1 EUR per 1km). There is a single fare for all cabs, and payment is strictly by meter. There is no need to book a cab in advance, as there are always cabs available at the South Airport parking lot.
