As a seaside resort, Puerto de la Cruz is traditionally pedestrianized along the city's waterfront. In the evenings, street artists and vendors set up here, giving the place a special flavor. From here, you can walk across Calle Quintana to Plaza del Charco and immerse yourself in the history of the Old Town.
Walking routes in Puerto de la Cruz usually include the Anglican Church of All Saints and the old Anglican cemetery, the Nuestra Senora de la Pena de Francia church with its park and swans in its elegant fountains, the Torreon Vintoso tower overlooking the city and many other monuments.
There are also hiking trails in Puerto de la Cruz for outdoor enthusiasts. They are usually conducted along the upper part of the Orotava Valley. The most attractive are the Puerto de la Cruz hiking route to the foot of Los Organos and the five-hour Pilgrim Trail hike to Arafo.
