Pattaya is one of the most popular resorts in Thailand. Getting here is easy, as the city has excellent transportation links. Here's how to get to the resort from Bangkok and the coastal areas of the country.
The nearest airports
Pattaya itself doesn't have an airport. You'll need to get into the city from nearby airport terminals:
Vacationers from Ukraine and the former CIS countries usually fly into the capital's airport - Suvarnabhumi;
Bangkok has another airport that low-cost carriers fly into - Don Muang;
The closest airport to Pattaya is Utapao, just 40 kilometers from the resort.

To Pattaya from Bangkok
To travel from the capital to Pattaya is quite easy for any tourist. Plus, there are budget travel options available.
General Information
The length of the route from Bangkok to Pattaya is 150 kilometers;
The average travel time is 2-2.5 hours (depending on traffic);
The approximate fare is from 100-120 THB per person.
Buses and minivans
There are buses to Pattaya from four bus stations in Bangkok:
Ekkamai, or Ekkamai (Eastern Bus Terminal);
Mochit, or Mo Chit (Northern Bus Terminal);
Sai Tai Mai (Southern Bus Terminal);
Khaosan Road.
Routes
All bus services arrive at Pattaya North Pattaya Bus Station;
The minibus terminus is the office of the transfer company;
Tourists most often get off at stops along the Sukhumvit highway. From either of them, you can easily take a cab or a songteo to your desired hotel.

Shuttle Bus
Another way is to book a shuttle from the Bell Travel Service carrier:
Schedule: The shuttle bus runs from Bangkok to Pattaya 3 times a day;

Price is approximately 400 THB.
Train
The cheapest way to travel from Bangkok to Pattaya is by train. The train runs from the capital's Hua Lampong Station and goes to Sattahip, with the obligatory stop at Pattaya Railway Station. Pattaya Railway Station is 4km from the center, and you can get into the city by cab or songteo for 30-50 THB.
Schedule: The train departs on weekdays. Departure is at 06:55; arrival in Pattaya is at 10:34;
Ticket price is 31 THB.
To Pattaya from Suvarnabhumi Airport
From Suvarnabhumi Airport, Pattaya is only 110 kilometers away. You can reach the city by the following ways.
Buses
Bus boarding point is Suvarnabhumi terminal, exit #8. They run to the bus station on Tapraya Road with mandatory stops along Sukhumvit Highway.
Interval between flights is 1 hour;
The price of a ticket is 120 THB. Tickets are sold at the ticket office on the 1st floor of the terminal;
The journey takes an average of 2 hours.
Transfer
Bell Travel Service organizes transfers to the hotel from Suvarnabhumi by bus.
The price of the trip is approximately 250 THB;

Taxi
Taxi is a favorable option if you are 3-4 people, as you pay for the whole car.
The fare is around 1000 THB, almost equal to a bus ride for four passengers;
Taxis can be booked online in advance (e.g. kiwitaxi service).
Rental car
You can rent a car right at Suvarnabhumi Airport.
The cheapest way to book a car is online through services (such as Rentalcars and Economybookings).
To Pattaya from Don Muang Airport
There are no direct routes from Don Muang Airport to Pattaya. You can get there by the following ways:
Taxi - fast but can be more expensive at 1200-1500 THB;
Shuttle bus to Bangkok's Mo Chit bus terminal, then take a minibus or bus to Pattaya;
Bus Flight #555 to Suvarnabhumi Airport, from there leave for Pattaya.
To Pattaya from Utapao
Utapao Airport is the closest to the resort, just 40 kilometers away. You can get to Pattaya inexpensively in the following ways:
Microbus
Buy tickets at the special counter at the airport;
Ticket price is 250 THB per seat. The price includes transfer to the hotel;
Trip time is 40-50 minutes.
Taxi
A car can be ordered online (e.g. kiwitaxi service). The cab stand is located near the airport exit.
The cost is 1000 THB, if there are four of you, the price is the same as a minivan.
Transfers for Air Asia customers
The ticket includes the option to take passengers to the center of Pattaya, to Central Festival. The same minibuses can be used to take passengers back from the department store to Utapao Airport.
To Pattaya from Phuket
The transportation links between these resorts are quite well developed. From Phuket Island to Pattaya can be reached quickly only with a flight, a direct bus on the road is much longer.
General Information
The route length from Phuket to Pattaya is 970 kilometers;
Travel time: by car - about 13 hours, by bus - more than 15 hours. Flight time from Pattaya to Phuket-1 hour 30 minutes, to Bangkok-1 hour.
Airplane
Fast travel to Pattaya from Phuket Island via Utapao Airport on Bangkok Airways and Air Asia;
The cheapest way to get from Phuket to Don Muang Airport is by low-cost carriers (Nok Air, Lion Air);
The capital's Suvarnabhumi has many more flight options, but be prepared for higher prices.
Bus
Cheaper than air travel is a comfortable bus ride on the Pattaya Savesdee Tour.
The bus comes from Phuket's North Bus Terminal.
Trip time: Departure - 17:00, arrival in Pattaya - 09:00;
Tickets cost, on average, from 900 to 1150 THB, but need to check with when booking;
Tickets can be bought in advance online at the site or at the carrier's office at Pattaya, Banlamung, Chonburi 20150.
There are also buses from Phuket to Bangkok, and then you can get to Pattaya by one of the above methods.
To Pattaya from Koh Samui
There are three ways to get into the city from Koh Samui, below we'll look at each of them.
Airplane
Bangkok Airways operates direct flights from the island to Utapao Airport. They are in high demand, so it's best to book tickets in advance;
There are a dozen flights to Suvarnabhumi Airport, it is quite easy to buy a ticket, but the price will be higher.
Bus
A direct Samui to Pattaya bus service leaves daily in the morning. The carrier company is Roong Reuang Coach in Natong, tel.0868255010.
Trip time is from 17 hours;
Fare - 1338 THB in a VIP bus, 901 THB in a standard air-conditioned bus. Ticket includes: transfer by minibus from your hotel, ferry crossing and bus fare to Pattaya.
There are also buses from Samui to South Bus Terminal in Bangkok, you can get to Pattaya with a transfer.
Bus to airplane to bus
To buy time and save a little savings, you can use the following method:
Take a bus from Samui to Suttarani Airport or Nakhon Si Tharmmarat;
Purchase a ticket on a low-cost Air Asia or Nok Air flight to Don Muang Airport;

To Pattaya from Ko Chang
From Koh Chang to Pattaya, minibuses run on a regular basis.
Trip time is 5-6 hours (including the ferry);
Fare - about 600 THB. Boarding passes for the minibus can be purchased at any travel agency.
To Pattaya from Cambodia
There is good transportation between Cambodia and Thailand, you can get to Pattaya by plane or minibus.
Airplane
From Siem Reap and Phnom Penh airports, there are about 10 flights each day to Suvarnabhumi and Don Muang. How to get from these airports to the resort is described above.
Minibus
Minibuses run daily from Siem Reap, Phnom Penh and Sihanoukville to Pattaya.
Purchase a ticket from any travel company in the city, it will cost around 650 THB;
The fare includes transportation to the border and transfer to a minivan, which will take you directly to your hotel in Pattaya.
Important! Buses coming from bus stations will only take you to the Thai border.
