Phuket Bus Stations

All the information you need about bus stations in Phuket: location, flights, infrastructure and contacts.

Currently, there are two bus stations on Phuket Island: the Old Bus Terminal and the New Bus Terminal. These stations are approximately 5 kilometers apart, and you can conveniently travel between them using the city bus route for just 15 THB. Look for buses with signs that say "Bus Terminal 1-2" or "Phuket Bus Terminal 2 - Phuket Bus Terminal 1 - Downtown Market Phuket Town."

You can purchase tickets directly at the bus terminals or at travel agencies across the island.

Old Bus Terminal (#1)

The small Phuket Bus Terminal 1, located in the eastern part of Phuket Town, has been serving as the starting point for journeys to nearby resort towns and the island's beaches since 2012. The primary routes from the Old Bus Terminal include:

  • To Phuket Airport
  • Operating daily from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm, the journey takes approximately 1.5 hours;

  • To various beaches
  • You can find the familiar blue buses for a ticket price of 30 THB;

  • To Patong Beach
  • This is the most popular beach destination, with a travel time of about 30 minutes and a cost of THB 50;

  • Intercity buses
  • Routes to Krabi (starting at 140 THB), Lanta (290 THB), and Surat Thani (200 THB).

New Bus Station (#2)

The New Bus Terminal or Phuket Bus Terminal 2, located on Thepkrasattri Rd, near a small market, has been open to the public since 2012. Today, it serves as the primary terminal for intercity and international bus travel. From Phuket Bus Terminal 2, you can travel to various destinations, including:

  • Bangkok
  • (1st class tickets starting from 500 THB, VIP seats from 1100 THB). There are up to 10 daily departures to the capital;

  • Samui Islands
  • (from THB 450) and Pangan (from THB 550). One daily departure is available to these islands;

  • Lanta Islands
  • (from 220 THB) and Krabi (from 120 THB). There are 10-12 daily departures with 1-1.5 hour intervals;

  • Pattaya
  • (from 930 THB) with one departure per day;

  • Other destinations include Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Ranong, Ubon, Konkan, and many more.

How to get there: You can reach the New Bus Terminal from the beaches using tuk-tuks (starting from THB 200), motorcycles (starting from THB 60), your own or rented car, or by taxi (starting from THB 200).
